"I've been thinking about having an affair."

Dedicated stay-at-home dad Jon thinks beloved wife Natasha is kidding at first when she comes home from her latest business trip to say she's fallen head-over-heels in lust with co-worker Patrick. But she's completely serious, and it shocks him how desperately she craves this other man.

Natasha doesn't want a divorce, she doesn't want to hurt her loving husband -- but she just can't suppress the powerful feelings inside her. One way or another, this is going to change their lives forever.

Only, the more he thinks about it, the more Jon finds himself feeling strange desires himself -- wanting to see his wife happy, completely fulfilled, and misbehaving in the arms of another man...

A full-length, 50,000-word sizzling erotic romance, exploring how a woman's desire for an extramarital tryst unexpectedly energizes her sexual bond with her husband - from the author of What's Mine Is Yours.

I approach the review of these“Hotwife” books, in what might be considered an unconventional manner. I say that because I’ve given up on “trying” to decide if I like either the husband or wife. Yes the wife is selfish, yes the husband is weak and a Cuckhold; but this is true of most couples written about in this genre or subgenre. For me it’s not whether I like or dislike either Natasha, Jon or Patrick, but rather did I like the story, did it hold my interest, did I look forward to seeing how the situation with the three main characters would play out and finally, did I, as the reader, get out of the book what I expected from the author. This book met and surpassed my expectations so I definitely recommend it for reading.

As I would expect from a MS book, it is well written and the “affair” between Natasha and Patrick is well setup and believable. My only criticism is that I prefer a full novel v a novella.

A Calculated Affair A WifeSharing Romance edition by Max Sebastian Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

One of the most interesting things about this book is that the story is driven by the wife's desire to have sex outside the marriage. Even though she wants to stray she loves her husband and he loves her. The couple's relationship plays a center role in the story as the story builds and they come to grips with her desires in the context of their relationship with each other. The characters are interesting, well developed and likeable. The author does an especially good job balancing the wife's desire for other men with her love for her husband, and I never got the sense that she felt her marriage was inadequate or unsatisfying. Max Sebastian is one of my favorite authors of the wife watching genre, and this is one of his best books. Don't miss it!
Good story, well-written but wife's transformation seems too facile
If you follow this wife-sharing subgenre in erotica Sebastian will be one of the better authors to follow. With every story he expands incrementally on unique perspectives that make each new story a growth rather than repetition of previous contributions.
I have shared my significant other several times and this book captures exactly what it feels like from the husbands/boyfriends point of view. Excellent job
This is a fantastic story. The first line in the book is delivered by the wife of eleven years when she comes home to hubby from a business trip, "I've been thinking of having an affair." Gulp. And hubby slowly, carefully warms to the idea of his faithful (to that point) wife describing her feelings and plans. As I told the author when I wrote to him after completing the book, this matches closely my own experience early in my marriage, and I was overwhelmed with memories from that time. The night I finished the book, I couldn't sleep.
I can't really put my finger on it but this story didn't seem all that plausable even for a fantasy.
The woman seemed plastic the husband wat to agreeable from the get go!
He says he is worried about their marriage but acts like he is into it way more than she is.
There is no real sizzle to the story or the sex.
Max has some excellent stories that capture the heat and angist of the sinful actbut not here.
This is more a luke warm wife storyline.
The time line of this was questionable. Jon accepts Natasha's request in less than a day and even encourages it. She decides she wants to go through with it in hours. The affair starts in less than 2 weeks with little actual discussion between Jon and Natasha during that time. The pacing could and should have drawn it out longer, but since the author noted that this was intended as a short story, it's not too much of a surprise.

"I did my research about you, didn't I? I know what you really want." That line is a Chekhov's gun. There is absolutely no way for someone to research the kink of wife sharing and find exactly what their partner has in mind since it is a broad spectrum. She could and should have assumed he wanted something he didn't, especially since they didn't really discuss in great detail what he wanted and what his limits were. For the sake of accuracy, it probably should have been something towards the spectrum of cuckoldry because that dominates the fetish, at least in terms of porn/erotica. It is probably arguable that without an insane amount of research that she wouldn't find out about hotwifing or stag/vixens, so the fact that she ended up on that end of the spectrum is questionable.
